A goal at either side of the half was enough for Central Cooperative Credit Union Dublanc Football Club to claim a 2-1 victory over East Central on Sunday at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.
Travis Joseph grabbed the opener midway through the first half — the forward received a long ball over the top and muscled his way past two defenders before he netted his goal.
East Central fought hard against the former champions, creating several chances to equalize the match, however, CCCUL Dublanc FC grabbed a second goal through McCorney Royer to make it 2-0.
That didn’t stop East Central from pressing. They finally pulled one back through Tai Douglas and maintained steady pressure for the remaining minutes.
CCCUL Dublanc FC would hang on for the 2-1 win in their first match after the restart.
