An amount of $2.5 million has been allocated for the construction of the Multi-purpose Sports Complex at Stockfarm.
That’s according to Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit who made this statement during the 2020/2021 National Budget.
The Multi-purpose Sports Complex will include indoor and outdoor courts, an Olympic size swimming pool and tennis courts, and be outfitted with essential amenities to include showers, locker rooms, and the like.
Mr. Speaker, the Government views sports development as a key component of our
development agenda,” Prime Minister Skerrit said.
He added, “Sports has been touted as critical in the development of our youth, as it
instills in them a strong sense of discipline, builds character, confidence, and contributes to
their general well-being.”
Work on the Multi-purpose Sports Complex at Stockfarm is expected to commence by the second quarter of this fiscal year.
In addition, there are a number of playing fields and hard courts which will be rehabilitated during the fiscal year including the completion of the Massacre Hard Court.
